SEA Change : Re-TROS (CHINA)

The newest expansion to the Super Color Super work in expanding our musical terrain arrives with SEA Change. SEA Change (SEA= South East Asia), is a new showcasing outlet for bringing forth the most hauntingly impressive and inspired acts being discovered on our side of the planet.

In over 5000 years of unbroken civilization, China has produced no analogues, no precedents nor peers for Re-TROS, (Rebuilding the Rights of Statues). Born out of Beijing and having gained their tastes in music from a catalogue of influence combed from Internet piracy, black market CDs, and mix tapes worn thin from being passed from friend-to-friend. From this bootlegged Chinese youth springs the influences to the band from the likes of Bauhaus, Joy Division, Television, Pere Ubu, Blonde Redhead, Modest Mouse, and the Futureheads. The band’s first EP was a collaboration with Brian Eno, and since the band has go on to tour the world, including a recent tour with Gang of Four in Australia.

SEA Change (SEA= South East Asia) 는 음악적 영토의 진정한 확장을 모토로, 우리가 살고 있는 아시아권 내의 가장 파격적이고 인상적인 밴드들을 초대하여 그들의 공연을 기획하는 SCS의 최신 프로젝트이다.

5000년 동안 자신들만의 문명을 지켜온 나라 중국, 그 안의 베이징에서 탄생한 Chinese Post-punk 밴드 Re-TROS (Rebuilding the Rights of Statues)는 인터넷과 리스너들 사이에서 떠도는 출처 불분명의 각종 CD, 믹스 테잎 등을 포함한 많은 음악들을 흡수하며 자신들만의 독특하고 확고한 음악적 색을 만들어왔다. 이 해적 같은 중국의 젊은 혈기 셋이 모여 만든 Re-TROS의 음악을 들어보면 Bauhaus, Joy Division, Television, Pere Ubu, Blonde Redhead, Modest Mouse, and the Futureheads 같은 밴드로부터 영향을 받았음을 알 수 있다. 이들의 첫 번째 EP는 Brian Eno와의 콜라보레이션 이었으며, 가장 최근 Gang of Four와 함께한 오스트레일리아 투어를 포함하여 활발한 월드 투어를 진행 중이다.
