Vinyl Williams is a lifetime music venture by Lionel Williams. In the past there have been several live members, namely Bryan Lee on drums. The music is an attempt at “sonic matrices” which are combinations of sounds that beneficially affect the body. The process is enabled at frequency intersections, when certain tones, chords, and patterns are composited to induce specific (and usually unpredictable) qualities in the human psyche. On the surface, the music sounds like a whirlpool of psyched-out rock with glowing layers of krautrock, shoegaze, and mysticism. “Spacebeat” / “Shoegroove”. Vinyl Williams는 LA에 거주하는 스무살 청년 Lionel Williams의 5인조 모험적 음악 프로젝트로, 그는 뮤지션이기 이전에 싸이키델릭한 콜라쥬 아티스트 그리고 초자연론자이다.그의 음악의 목적은 신체에 좋은 영향을 주는 음파의 모태와 가장 가까운 소리의 조합을 찾는 것이다. 이러한 과정은 진동수의 교차점, 어떤 특정한 톤, 코드, 패턴이 사람들의 예측할 수 없는 어떠한 정신적 특성을 유발하는데에 있다. 그는 슈게이저의 꿈꾸는 듯한 보컬 스타일과 70년대 독일의 실험주의 음악이었던 krautrock의 리드미컬하고 베이시한 펀치를 조합함으로써 나른하고 편안한 느낌을 만들어 여러분의 ‘몸에 좋은’ 음악을 선사하러 Toro Y Moi와 함께 내한한다. 본 공연의 포스터로도 만나보게 될 그의 콜라쥬 작업은 그의 플릭커에서 감상할 수 있다.
